Dr. Stephen Klinker

Dr. Stephen P. Klinker is recognized as distinguished alumni from his alma mater Northern Michigan University where he graduated in 1978 with degrees in biology and business. He then attended Texas A&M University, College of Veterinary Medicine studying neuroanatomy, neurophysiology, and neuropsychopharmacology. After receiving his degree he then attended The University Of Texas College of Dentistry, where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. Upon graduation he moved to Austin Texas where he established a dental practice, and started his oral surgery-training program. He was also instrumental in starting the Veterinary Dental Society at that time.

Since 1984 Dr. Klinker has been involved in cross-cultural medicine starting with the Acoma and Navajo tribes of North America. He then traveled into dangerous war torn Central America leading medical, dental, ophthalmic, and chiropractic teams to provide much needed assistance to the people. He has received numerous awards for Outstanding Volunteerism both domestically as well as internationally. President George Bush recognized these efforts and the coveted Golden Jefferson Award for Outstanding Volunteerism was awarded to Dr. Klinker. He was then nominated as Ambassador to Honduras.

Dr. Klinker has established several non-profit organizations that serve the needs of others through medicine, dentistry, and optometry that are still in existence today. He also serves on the Board of Directors of many other organizations as a leader, director, and active member of those organizations. He is involved in several professional organizations in the areas of veterinary medicine, naturopathic medicine as well as dentistry, including the American Dental Association, Maine Dental Association, and the Kennebec Valley Dental Society.

Dr. Klinker is also a member of the National Ski Patrol, and Medical Advisor, for the State of Maine National Ski Patrol.

Dr. Klinker and his wife Lauren, a registered nurse, have traveled extensively throughout the world taking medical teams into areas where few westerners have been allowed to travel. Through these travels Dr. Klinker has had the opportunity to study medicine from a multitude of practitioners, not only from his teams, but those in the indigenous lands. He has worked from the Mosquito Coast to the Amazon to the Himalayas and has been blessed to develop relationships that allow a trust to be established between the native practitioners and his teams for the mutual good of all. He is establishing health clinics in many countries as well as orphanages and churches. Through these efforts Dr. Klinker has seen and been exposed to virtually all types of medical practices being used today throughout the world. He now blends the knowledge he has obtained form these aspects of medicine to dentistry, in order to treat the whole patient, rather than just teeth.

Dr. Klinker and his wife now reside in Waterville Maine, and are involved in several community activities. We welcome you to the full practice of dental health.

Lauren, R.N.
Practice Manager
Lauren

Hello, I’m Lauren, the Practice Manager at Cornerstone Dental.

I’ve lived in Maine since moving from Texas in 2002. This office has been a dream since the beginning and it is a blessing to be involved with an amazing staff that truly cares about our patients!

My education and background is in the medical field, from C.N.A. to E.M.T. to R.N. Previously I have travelled the world, setting up remote medical, dental and eye clinics with Dr. Klinker. While living in Texas, I also worked as an R.N. at a large children’s hospital on the oncology floor. Currently, I am also the Executive Director of an international ministry to widows, with two locations in India. Our four boys are all grown, and I now have three lovely daughters-in-law and two grandchildren. When I’m home, I can be found cooking, reading, shopping or playing with our two dogs, an English Mastiff and a Boxer!

Hi, my name is Traci! I was born and raised in northern Utah. I’ve been able to call Maine my home for over ten years and can’t imagine it any other way! I joined the team at Cornerstone Dental in 2010. Prior to working here, I received a certificate in Dental Assisting from Dental Careers Institute as well as obtaining my Dental Radiography License.

The dental field is a true passion of mine; I am currently serving as the Vice President for the New England Dental Office Managers Study Group (NEDOM), as well as a Fellow of the American Association of Dental Office Managers (FAADOM).

When I'm not in the office, you'll find me spending time with my amazing husband, Luke, and our three adorable fur-babies, Ellie, George and Piper. I am so blessed to be part of the team at Cornerstone Dental and look forward to assisting you with your dental needs!

Tiffany
Registered Dental Hygienist
Tiffany

Hi, my name is Tiffany. I became a part of the Cornerstone Dental family in 2010. I genuinely enjoy developing lifelong relationships with our patients as their Dental Hygienist. Getting our patients to a point where they know exactly where they are dentally and what options they have is my priority. Once properly educated, a patient can feel comfortable in making decisions to help them reach or maintain their dental health. There is no better feeling that seeing a patient's smile transform their lives.

In 2015 I became a Wife and a Step-Mother! My husband and I are Registered Maine Guides, so when I'm not in the office you can often find me in the woods or enjoying any other outdoor activity. We also have a beautiful German Shepherd, French Bulldog and more hounds than we know what to do with. I also enjoy spending time with our friends and family, especially my fabulous niece, Bella. I look forward to meeting you and helping you have a positive dental experience!

Ashley
Consultant / Certified Dental Assistant
Ashley

Hello, my name is Ashley! I am a Certified Dental Assistant as well as a Consultant for Cornerstone Dental. When I’m not in the office I enjoy spending time with my husband and our four children!

My Favorite part about working in the dental field is watching someone regain a smile that has been lost. With a new smile usually comes a whole new level of self-confidence, which is wonderful to watch unfold.
